About Boulder Care

Boulder Care is a digital health platform for treating substance use disorders..

Opioid overdose is the leading cause of death for Americans under 50, but fewer than 10% of people who need treatment are receiving it. Boulder is closing this gap by providing high-quality medication-based treatment via a digital platform. Patients get the support they deserve from our world-class clinical staff from the comfort and convenience of home.

Why work at Boulder?

  • Make a difference. Medication-based treatment works, but in the midst of a national crisis, the majority of US communities have no access to it. By providing more people with quality care, we can save and transform lives.
  • Work with the best. Boulder brings together the best clinicians, technologists, researchers, and business strategists, with the common goal of expanding access to life-saving treatment. Boulder’s clinical teams are the leading voices in addiction medicine. Our technology leadership has built products and services that scaled to hundreds of employees and hundreds of millions of end-users.
  • Grow with us. Boulder is a Series A stage, venture-funded company with investors like First Round and Greycroft Partners, and the opportunity to build a massive business. Our healthcare systems spend billions combating the opioid epidemic. By offering better care, we save lives and save payors money, creating immense financial value.

Position Overview

Boulder is looking for a data-driven, senior marketing executive who will establish the company’s marketing function and position us for accelerated growth as we advance our mission.

This position is ideal for a “builder” who has developed marketing capability at a growing B2B[C] company from the ground up, preferably with experience in the digital health sector.

We hope you will apply if you are excited about the opportunity to create, execute, and lead growth strategy, with a passion for marketing as well as early company-building.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams across the company, partnering with experienced Product, Business Development and Operations teams to hone go-to-market strategy, deepen enterprise customer relationships, and reach underserved individuals so we can help them overcome systemic barriers and access critical telehealth services.

We are looking for someone who will drive accelerated growth during a particularly dynamic and meaningful time for the telehealth industry. This role is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and rapidly iterative.

We’re looking for a leader who is revenue-focused, analytical, and comfortable navigating unknowns to test creative solutions across a variety of channels and effectively communicate insights to drive company decision-making on our path to national expansion.

You will primarily focus on:

  1. Attracting new participants to the platform who enroll in care, both directly to individuals (e.g., digital marketing, community outreach initiatives) and via partnerships (with payors, employers and broader healthcare networks);
  2. Patient adoption and continued utilization of Boulder’s treatment services and support;
  3. Driving value in Health Plan and Employer partnerships; and
  4. Market Penetration

The most important dimensions for success in this role are:

Strategic company leadership: You will synthesize a broad range of inputs, find the right signals in the noise, and form a strong view to guide the company’s strategic growth plan. You are an integral thought partner to the executive team and collaborate effectively to evolve marketing strategy with industry innovation and resource prioritization. You will play a critical role in driving the company forward.

Growth and revenue mindset: You see your role as driving growth and impacting revenue. You have experience managing performance marketing strategies and tactics and can allocate the appropriate budget to drive new customer acquisition while thoughtfully managing acquisition costs.

Product go-to-market: You support Product leadership in setting development priorities, pricing and specifications to ensure we have the best offering to serve our patients and enterprise customers with excellence. You lead our efforts in taking new products to market with a range of assets for both sales and digital channels, and consistently communicate product updates to engage and retain customers.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Analyze all aspects of Boulder’s conversion funnel to establish paid and organic growth strategies and identify targeted areas to advance our momentum, improve existing strategies and implement new approaches to support adoption and revenue goals
  • Develop paid marketing strategies and manage a team to execute against those strategies, including budget management and planning, channel allocation, and channel testing
  • Identify, develop, and implement foundational infrastructure for Boulder’s Marketing function - including analytics, tools, systems, technology, operations and team-building needed for driving growth in tight cross-functional partnership across the company
  • Build and maintain Marketing dashboards, KPIs and reporting cadence to support management decisions and communications with Board of Directors and Investors
  • Create processes to increase and track ROI with targeted strategies based on disciplined analytical analysis
  • Drive a culture of constant testing and learning to discover new and innovative ways to scale marketing initiatives
  • Excel as an individual contributor during a critical stage of early growth for the company; in 6-12 months, hire, develop, and lead a team of highly motivated and disciplined marketing professionals

Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of relevant marketing experience in a tech-forward, growth-stage business, ideally with B2B2C focus
  • 1+ years experience in digital health preferred: driving product adoption in payor and employer customer segments
  • Highly mission-driven and genuinely excited about building and leading a new function from the ground up in a growing venture-backed company
  • Proven track record across acquisition strategies, tactics, and paid marketing

Other characteristics:

  • Superior reasoning and analytical skills: a creative thinker who thrives solving problems in unchartered territory, honing innovative solutions to problems
  • Data-focused, fast and iterative decision-making that contemplates holistic company objectives and patient experience
  • Collaborative teammate eager to contribute and support others to drive results
  • Results-driven with a bias toward action. Extremely organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal. Articulate concepts in a clear, structured way and adjust communication based on the audience
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment of constant change. Manages numerous time-sensitive matters simultaneously.
